Supplying biomass-based power generation and ORC cogeneration facilities through the efficient use of bamboo
In August 2019, Bamboo Energy Co., Ltd. (Kumamoto Prefecture, Minami-cho, Tamamei-gun, Representative: Hisayuki Okada) completed a biomass plant power generation system in Kumamoto Prefecture. In the biomass energy introduction promotion project of NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization), a general machinery trading company, Daiichi Jitsugyo Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Ichiro Uno, Representative Director: We) was appointed as the sole distributor for the production of biomass energy, and demonstration operations began.
This biomass plant combines a biomass burner that uses bamboo effectively with a ORC cogeneration facility. It is the first plant in Japan to use bamboo as a raw material. Approximately 10 thousand electricity purchased from retail electric utilities per year compared to heat supplied by A heavy oil boilers. They can reduce the 9,000t of CO2.
By using unused bamboo and bark as raw materials, we can not only solve regional issues such as bamboo forests, but also strengthen collaboration with local communities in the stable procurement of raw materials, which is expected to contribute to the sustainability of our business.
We will strengthen our efforts to maximize the use of biomass resources in each region and continue to contribute to local industries through our renewable energy business.
